  • You have to get one of these!

Posted by J.T scoots on 24th Nov 2012

You have to get one of these, it will save your life literally and financially. Spend a couple hundreds dollars or

    1. lose job

    2. lose license

    3. lose insurance (they will drop you) or triple your rates!!

    4. lose your dignity, even if you occasionally drink they made me go to AA for twice a week 6 months, MANDATORY or violate probation.

    5. very expensive- court costs, lawyer fee, jail fee, interlock device fess, mandatory counseling fess, probation fees, renew license fees I could go on and on and on

    6. My cost was about $9,300 first offense I lost license no driving not even to work and made me put the ignition device in car which is a very very expensive and must pay every month.

Bottom line BUY A BREATHALYZER, test yourself before the flashing lights are in your rear view mirror and your in hand cuffs. And STAY SAFE.

Posted by Allen on 1st Sep 2012

I never write reviews since I dont have much time but I thought I had to for this product since we use it everyday. We are a law enforcement dept. in Georgia and we have purchased $700 Alcosensor units in the past. The specs for this model is the same so we purchased 5 of these and they are just as accurate and the same exact carrying case as the more expensive models have at a fraction of the cost.

5 stars..... we wil be purchasing more in the future.

  • Very good to have around

Posted by Unknown on 21st Jul 2012

I bought a cheap model from ebay caled safe drive for $39.95 and it never worked, we would get 0.00 one time and them 0.15 the next so after throwing it in the garbage we bought the Alcohawk pt500.

This is a must have to have in the house to deter kids from drinking when out and beleive me it worked great! I tested them every time they they got home. But now me and my husband use it when out to dinner or at friends. Its a great tool to have no matter who is drinking.

  • We find it to be very accurate!!

Posted by Deb just Deb on 11th Jul 2012

Unfortunately, my husband had to have an ignition interlock device breathalyzer device put in his vehicle. On a couple of occassions we went out for dinner and he had a beer, ate and waited for an hour and we thought everyting was fine for him to drive. Well it wasn't fine and the vehicle wouldn't start. (Crap) We have had the AlcoHAWK PT500 for about a month and it's been dead on. No more problems wondering if he could start the car. Not to mention we have had some fun with it. I discovered what .08 feels like.

All this being said, get one and be safe out there. Don't end up like us. DUI's are no fun, a huge big hassle, and very very very expensive!!! Unlike a GREAT breathalyzer!!

  • Very Accurate

Posted by george on 29th Jun 2012

Awesome! Thats all I can say. I have had other cheap models that I wasted my money on, dont waste your money, buy this model!! Got free shipping and mouthpieces also, cant beat it.

  • Fun and Safe

Posted by Unknown on 21st Jun 2012

I am very happy with the PT500. I had 2 on the past and this is as good if not better than my previous 2. I believe the test are correct. I would buy this item again!

  • Excelent option

The AlcoHawk PT500 I recently purchased has turned out great It is eazy to use and appears to be accurate. I would not hesitate in buying another!

  • If you drink, you need this!

Posted by Unknown on 20th Jun 2012

The AlcoHawk PT 500 is an excellent product. Easy to use and extremely accurate. I host dinner parties and there is always wine, but sometimes thoughtful guests bring a nice bourbon or Scotch. Before anyone leaves, they have to use the breathalyzer; 0.06 or higher (0.08 is legally "drunk" in CA), they're staying the night or I'm calling them a cab! As a host, you are legally liable if your guest is involved in an alcohol related accident.

  • AlcoHawk PT500 Breathalyzer

Posted by Steve on 20th Jun 2012

I purchased this unit to help me determine when it's safe to drive home after a party. It seems to give me a pretty good idea about my current state of intoxication and compares well with similar models from several different manufactures. The overall feel is kind of "hollow plastic", but it gets the job done very well and helps me decide if I am ready to go home or if I should stay a while longer. I would recommend this unit to anyone who is planning on going out and trying to decide when it is safe to drive home. It only takes one drink to put you over the safe/legal limit, but allowing enough time for it to wear off will allow you to get home safely, using this device can help determine when you or your friends are well below the legal limit.

  • Much better than cheaper meters

Posted by Tom on 20th Jun 2012

Easy to use, appears to be accurate and you do not need to blow as long as I did with my older and cheaper meter. Just make sure you wait after your last drink, for at least 20 min. And drink some water before the test. Alcohol traces in your mouth seem to really influence the reading and give a much higher result. But I think that goes for all meters. I highly recommend it!

  • Excellent alcohol tester

Posted by Martin on 19th Jun 2012

The Alcohawk PT500 alcohol tester is as good as a much larger machine costing twice as much. I used to have a much larger fuel cell machine until it was stolen out of my car when I brought my car to be serviced. I recently bought the PT500. It quickly always gives the same values and maybe down .001 as the kidneys uses the alcohol. This machine is necessary if you drink and drive afterwards. A wonderful machine.

  • AlcoHAWK PT500

Posted by William on 19th Jun 2012

I guess it works accurate. It's fairly simple to use and carries the reading to thousandths. It's been interesting to see how I feel at .08, and it's turned into a party toy.

  • Great!!

Posted by Unknown on 18th Jun 2012

Well this breathalyzer has become the hit of several parties. It's becomes quite the entertainment piece and is also a great way for figuring out who is wasted and shouldn't be driving. As with all breathalyzers, you do have to wait the 20 minutes to get an accurate reading. If you blow in it right after a tequila shot, your BAC will read really high since all that alcohol is right in your mouth and hasn't been absorbed fully into your bloodstream. However, this thing has recorded several hundred readings and is still working great. After you use it enough you get a really good idea of where you are on the scale and I can pretty much tell whether or not I'm over 0.08 without even blowing into it. I've done it enough so now I know. It has definitely been worth the money I paid for it!

  • Excellent breathalyzer

Posted by Nathan Price on 18th Jun 2012

After negatively reviewing and returning the BACTRACK breathalyzer, I ordered this one as a replacement, hoping for better results. Yes, it is more expensive, but worth it, it works and it works great. It has several settings and keeps count of the total number of readings. So far it has seemed to be very accurate. The only minor downside is that although the blow time can be set from 3 - 8 seconds, it always resets to 5 seconds every time the unit is turned off and back on but no big deal.

  • Awesome Breathalyzer!-- A+

Posted by Joe M on 8th Dec 2011

Love this breathalyzer! I have had the cheaper models (under $150) and they just are not accurate like this model. The reason I have been told is its the fuel cell sensor just like the ones that the cops use. It has saved me several times I just check myself before I drive. Highly recommended, awesome customer service! AAA+++

    Reviews: The AlcoMate AccuCell AL-9000

  • Reproducible results and convenient

Posted by Hope this helps "Helper" on 26th Nov 2012

My wife and I have owned this for a few weeks and have used it a couple dozen times. It seems very solidly made and the readings seem reasonable, given our alcohol intake, and reproducible (within about a 5% range).

A suggestion that seems sensible, although not in the instructions and I can't prove its importance, is to take in a moderately deep breath, hold it for 5-10 seconds, breath slowly out and then start to breath into the breathalyzer without stopping your expiration. This would seem to best assure a reproducible measurement of an equilibrated air sample from deep in your lungs and not from the trachea, which could represent fresh air that you have just inspired.

Posted by Unknown on 1st Sep 2012

I never knew I could by a breathalyzer I thought they were only for the police. This is the greatest find ever and I just stumbled upon the site searching duis and www. alcotester.com popped up and it was awesome I live in California and I called their 24 hour 800 line and ordered over the phone even though it was 2:00am their time.

FYI, I did look at other sites when I was researching but NONE of them answered the phone since they work "9-5", again this site has 24/7 ordering!

All fifty states and the District of Columbia have "per se laws" that deem it a crime to drive with a Blood Alcohol Level, or BAC, at or above a determined level for that state, usually .08%. The Federal Aviation Regulations for piloting an aircraft set the BAC standard for airmen at less than .04%

  • Alcomate AL9000

    Posted by DO777 on 18th Jun 2012

I purchased this unit based upon my law enforcement experience with the use of PBT's. The Alcomate AL9000 works fantastic! I would recommend the purchase for anyone who is subject to random breath alcohol testing. This unit will allow you to decide for yourself if you can drive legally or work (under zero tolerance policy) after the consumption of alcohol. Why worry about being tested; you can check for yourself with the AL9000!

  • Great product

Posted by Drew on 18th Jun 2012

  • I love this breathalyzer

Posted by John S. on 10th Mar 2011

I have been using breathalyzers for many years as a drug and alcohol counselor. I have had several different very expensive brands such as lifeloc and intoximeters that are between $600- $800 and this AlcoMate AccuCell is just as accurate, much smaller and easier to use.

This is a very sleek and cool looking tester compared to the other big and bulky and much more complicated breathalyzers.

I bought 2 of AccuCells and spent less money then I would have if I would have bought 1 of the others.

Thanks AlcoTester.com for the great knowledge, service and FAST delivery, I will be purchasing more products in the future.

  • In our tests, not even the next-best AlcoMate Premium AL-7000 could match the wicked consistency of the AlcoMate AccuCell AL-9000!

Posted by Wired Magazine- AlcoMate AccuCell Review on 28th Dec 2010

In our tests, not even the next-best AlcoMate Premium AL-7000 could match the wicked consistency of the AlcoMate AccuCell AL-9000. Granted, it reads about 0.01 higher than the police units — but it’s always 0.01 higher.

Thank the fuel-cell sensor — the same tech used in police models — which turns your boozy breath into electrical current that can be precisely measured. We’re guessing that AlcoMate calibrates the device a tad high to keep users on the sober side of legal — probably a good idea when your customers are the kind of people who buy personal breathalyzers.

WIRED Review: Most reliable of the bunch. Audible click tells you when to stop blowing. Small and light. Quick startup. Optional USB kit ($50) lets you download readings to your PC to plot drunkenness over time.

    I bought a bactrack breathalyzer :(

    Posted by tommytom65 on 15th Dec 2012

I bought a bactrack breathalyzer BUT they do not tell you about CALIBRATION! You will quickly find out though as soon as you need your breathalyzer and it stops working. This happened to me and after a little research I found out about this technology and bought the AL-7000 while waiting for my bactrack to get back to me, the answer to my dilemma a sensor module that you change yourself.

So I paid for calibration and shipping to the company and waited 4 weeks for it to return, unbelievable. Thank god I bought this al-7000 because we use a breathalyzer all the time and now when I need my breathalyzer calibrated all I do is change the sensor it takes about 5 seconds instead of 4 WEEKS!

I love this new technology, I work at a sober house and we use a breathalyzer everyday, this is what you need if you dont want the hassle of calibration (I did some research and found out that all breathalyzers including bactrack need calibration, except the Al-7000)

    Highly recommended!!!!!

  • Great Product

Posted by BRL on 5th Jul 2012

My office purchased this product to test the BAC of our clinical research participants, and it's still functioning very well after several years. It's very easy to operate, quick, and unobtrusive to the participants.

Our participants were always on the low end of the scale (usually 0.00) because of our research constraints, so we don't have much experience with higher readings on the device. However, I wouldn't anticipate it having any trouble detecting higher BAC levels.

  • Very good product

Posted by RT on 20th Jun 2012

I find it consistent and informative. Once you use it, you have a good idea where the border is, and whether or not you need to check. However, if it is used on different people in short intervals, it seems to encounter problems, so I would not buy it for a party toy thats not what it is made for. But it sure is excellent for what I presume is its intended use. Great purchase. Plus my wife gave me a hard time for buying it, and now has apologized and thinks it was a terrific purchase.

  • AlcoMate Premium

Posted by D. Butler on 19th Jun 2012

Bought this item for my son when he turned legal age for drinking. I thought it was proactive to have one for those times that he might go over the limit. He keeps it on hand and has used it a couple of times. Sure enough....he was over and knew he shouldn't drive. I think it's an invaluable item in these days...protects him and others. He said it's easy to use and accurate!

  • Amazing! The Perfect Breathalyzer

Posted by J. Jong on 18th Jun 2012

I spend A LOT of time reviewing all the different Breathalyzer's on the market in this price range and in the end chose this one for a few different reasons:

*Small and compact (about the size of an Iphone)

*No need to send the unit off to recalibrate (just order a new "AlcoMate Premium Sensor Module", pop it in and your done)

*VERY simple to use, only one button to worry about

*Very accurate (we actually had the opportunity to test it against a $800 unit)

*Good reviews from several websites comparing different makes and models

*Comes with a nice small discrete black neoprene-like cover

  •

  • Accurate if used correctly. A good investment. Good product!

Posted by Unknown on 18th Jun 2012

I did a ton of research before I bought this product and so I had high expectations when I received it. It seems to be very accurate as long as you have waited 20 minutes or so since your last drink (and it sometimes helps to rinse your mouth with water first too for more accuracy). It is very reliable and easy to carry in my purse and very lightweight. I'd reccommend it a good investment!

  • I have an Interlock BAC system on my car

Posted by Let's call me Joe on 17th Nov 2011

Let me start out saying: If you drink alot or a little, please, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and buy a breathalyzer.

I have an Interlock system on my car...some call it a "blow & go". I'm 22 months into 24 months (2 years) of being required to drive only this car and having to blow & go every time I want to start this car. If I'm stopped driving any other car even if I'm sober as a judge (ha ha) I'm going to jail for a minimum 6 months, because my license suspension is DUI related.

Every 2 months I have to go into the State regulated Interlock garage and have the system downloaded and reset. One of the rules are that if you try to start your car and blow a BAC reading over 0.025 the car won't start and the system registers demerit violations. Two, 3 or 4 demerits depending on how high your BAC reads when trying to start your car.

If you register 12 demerit violations during the entire time the system is on your car (in my case 24 months) the system is removed and you're removed from the program.

I only have experience with the AL 7000 and the accuracy is absolutly perfect.

I had a beer while doing some computer work at home. A while later my wife said "I need to leave in a couple minutes". I totally forgot my wife was going to need a ride to work cause her car was in the shop. Before trying to start the car I used my AL 7000 breathalyzer and registered just over my 0.025. I drank water, waited a little while and tried again. My 7000 registered exactly 0.025. That's the minimum reading you can register on my Interlock system and be allowed to start the car.

I went directly to the car (maybe 45 to 60 seconds later) and blew into the blow & go and my car started. Believe me, the 7000 must have been accurate because my Interlock system would not have released the ignition unless I blew 0.025 or less. My wife was a little late for work but I saved myself demerit violations and possible removal from the State's Interlock program.

I've been using this 7000 for almost the whole 22 months I've been on the State's Ignition Interlock Program and the reason I'm only on this site today is to order a new sensor. I thought I really should write a review because I'm so impressed with this anaylzer. I plan on keeping the analyzer handy even after I complete this Interlock program.

I refuse to get another DUI and I'll feel certain about my BAC levels before driving, even without the "Blow & Go" locked to my ignition.

  • Not bad

Posted by Jackman on 29th Oct 2011

Above average. They read a little high, but its better than low.

  • The Best $179 I have ever spent!

Posted by Unknown on 9th May 2011

I never thought I needed anything like this but this is the BEST $179 I have ever spent. Getting a DUI is over $5,000 and what about our kids drinking and driving or even worse getting in a accident.

With this device I now know if I am over the legal limit or under instead of guessing and getting arrested. I Wouldn't buy a car with no speedometer, I know what the speed limit is but how do I know how fast I am going without a speedometer. The same is true for drinking, the limit in most states is .08 but how do you know if you are close or not, now I do and I love it I can make sure I am under .08 before I drive.

If you are a parent this deters kids from drinking (believe me) if they know that this is in the house waiting for them when they get home they will not drink.

I suggest everyone gets one of these for these reasons and also they are very fun.
